Just hangin` with ma people!

March 1st, 2008 (08:51 pm)

Hello minions. With the absence of my pig-slaves I have had to get some new minions.

Enjoy...

It started with a nice cold beer in a local bar called Sad Cafe.

Then I made some Jappanese friends...

This girl is my new friend too, I am going to feed her to one of my pig-slaves when they arrive.

This is Todd from the States, a cool guy. He is popular with ladies and speaks excellent Japanese. I am TEACH-ING HIM DA-LEK.

Then I got on stage and rocked out with a dalek rendition of Stairway to Heaven.

Finally, I can post again

February 26th, 2008 (10:15 am)

Sorry minions, I have been so busy of late. I was travelling to Tokyo every day for training, that`s 2 hours each way :(.

Last week and yesterday I took some more pics and I will take more today. Here they are.

This is me at Shonan Beach, which is about a 5 min walk from my apartment. The sand is an ashen colour so it`s not pretty. But the ocean is clean and whispers Davrosian lullabies to my conflicted subconscious.

This is me with my Japanese mother-in-law. She is old school Japanese and a practising buddhist.

Me eating a typical Japanese meal...note a nice selection of fish, miso soup, sashimi (raw fish) and clams etc. This was delicious :)

This is me on the veranda of my apartment. You can see  the hanamizu river behind me.

This photo was taken in Hiratsuka city. A flower shop girl took the photo, although she was totally freaked by my alien appearance.

Not much to report as I have been so busy with training and other job applications.

I have been playing Starcraft in my spare time.

Oh, and I should say that my human wife got a job yay.

See you guys later.

Regards,

Dalek Sek

New update on day 3

February 15th, 2008 (07:23 pm)

EXCELLENT!

Job interview tomorrow in Tokyo for a company/agency that hires qualified teachers for Japanese international schools. The academic year here starts in April so this is good timing.

I have to use the train system to get to Tokyo (easy) and then use the very complex subway system to get to my final destination.

I should also mention that I accompanied my wife to the dentist yesterday. It is so cheap here as dentist treatment is included as part of your medical insurance. Medical insurance costs about 70.00 pounds a month, but this covers everything and means you only pay 10-30 percent of the medical costs depending on the type of insurance/situation. Old people get 100 percent exemption so it is not totally cut-throat.

So my wife paid only 15 pounds for a filling at 30 percent of the cost! WTF, it costs about 70-80 quid in the UK. Soon as I am on the medical insurance scheme I will get my fillings done. My teeth are rotten and I need about 6 done lol.

So, I am aware that one of my human-pig slaves is now unemployed. Such sloth will not be tolerated. You know who you are, so tell me what developments are being made on your job hunt. YOU...WILL...TELL...ME!

Another thing. My mother-in-law cooks breakfast, lunch and meal for us every day. This is the norm. Typical Japanese style too; which means several different dishes included vegetables, fruits, fish, rice, meats etc. I am in heaven now.

I played the Japanese lottery (called lotto 6) and lost. Jackpot is 100 million yen, which is about 500k. I lost anyway :(.

Last note. I watched Japanese Dr Who this week. Differences are:

(a) It is Japanes dubbed of course;
(b) Has voice-over during the intro sequence which introduces the Doctor and his assistant; and
(c) Has extra credits at the end for the Japanese translators and voice-actors.

The most recent episode is the one with the comedian Peter Kay as the monster who absorbs other life-forms. Dr Who here has a prime-time slot  at 7.30 on a Tuesday night.

Dalek Sek: Day 3

February 15th, 2008 (09:32 am)

Well friends and human-pig hybrid slaves. Some more pictures of me out and about in Hiratsuka city. Before I show the pics, to just to say that I have been quite busy sorting out all the paperwork stuff and applying for other jobs. Yes, I know I already have a job, but there are better paying jobs here that can only be applied for within Japan. Things are going to be busy the next few days.

I did go shopping and bought 2 new suits; no pin-stripes yet unfortunately, but I needed a change of style anyway.

Anyway, the photos...

Above is me outside the entrance to Hiratsuka Garden Homes where I live. I live in the more rural part of Hiratsuka by the way, about 20 mins by bus from city centre.

Me on the Hanamizu river bridge near my home. Hanamizu means flower (hana) water (mizu) river. It is a bright chilly day here.

And some pictures of me on the bus.

You may note that you can never see any Japanese people or crowds in the background. My Japanese wife is too embarrassed and wont be seen in crowded places with me! I will rectify this in future, just give me more time.

Anyway, hope you enjoy these latest pics.

Regards,

Dalek Sek

Day 2

February 13th, 2008 (07:17 pm)

I have added a couple of pictures to my "Dalek Sek in Japan" gallery; two pictures of me outside my apartment in Hiratsuka city. I didn`t have time to take more as I was too busy and my human wife was too embarrassed to be seen taking pictures of me in crowded places :( . I WILL have more pictures tomorrow. Let me know if you can access the pics as I am new to this and don't know if I created the gallery for public viewing.

So today I had to go to Hiratsuka City Hall to get my gaijin card; an I.D card for aliens like my myself. Then some exploring the city of Hiratsuka and the old places I used to hang out. Ahhh, everything seems so new again as it has been two years since I left Japan. I have the starry-eyed look of a newbie as I walk these streets.

I also went to some video game shops to check prices for xbox 360 and PS3. PS3 is 39,000 yen new (180.00) and xbox a suprisingly low 25,000 (125.00). I won`t buy yet as I would need to purchase an HDTV to go and none of the games caught my eye. When the new Full Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil are released I may reconsider. Besides, I don't want to get distracted by gaming yet as I have to learn Japanese asap.

In the evening I went to a Yaki-Niku restaurant with my in-laws and this was ace. I went to an old favourite place called "Gyu Gaku" and ate meats, drank beers and chatted about my home planet Skaro and how my old Dalek "homies" had exiled me for my humanistic tendencies.

Well I am tired now so I will call it a night.

Regards,

Dalek Sek

Dalek Sek: The Arrival

February 12th, 2008 (06:39 pm)

My flight to the Nippon was a long one and I caused a slight stir at Japanese immigration with my appearance. But it was all back-slapping and high-fives when they realised that I was a benevolent seijin (alien).

I had originally wished to bring my human-pig hybrid slaves, Beattie and Nick, with me. They are of low intelligence and quite harmless if tethered and muzzled. In the end I opted to come alone as I do not wish, at this time, to be encumbered by deviant subhumans.

I must confess that I am feeling quite ecstatic about being back in Japan. The absence of Hoodie Neds is positively delightful and the Japanese seem a polite and well-ordered people.

Tomorrow I must deal with immigration and banking issues. I will take some pictures and post them tomorrow.

Regards,

Dalek Sek
